UNESCO - United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture, established in Paris November 4, 1946, was born from the general awareness that political and economic agreements are not sufficient to build lasting peace and that it must be founded on education, science, culture and collaboration between nations, in order to ensure universal respect for justice, the law, human rights and fundamental freedoms that the United Nations Charter recognizes for all peoples, without distinction of race, sex, language or religion.
