Angela Davis 2019
On the front of a building outside the Piscinola-Scampia station on line 1 of the Naples underground, the image of the Afro-American activist and that of Pier Paolo Pasolini are portrayed as symbols of hope and redemption for the suburbs. A central figure in the black feminist movement of the 1970s, a historical militant of the Black Panther movement, Angela Davis dedicated her life to the political solution of the problems of racism and civil rights. Her personal experiences led her to be, as a woman and an African-American, a symbol of feminism and racial equality.
