Fort of Orrico
The fort of Orrico opens on the tip of the Miglio, about thirty meters above sea level, and is equipped with a semicircular wall with a radius of ten meters and a thickness of two meters. The reconstruction of the Orrico fort is traditionally attributed to both the British and the French. The British in fact placed two blocks of white stone inside the fort, on which the guns were placed, and created a moat with slits for the riflemen in the rear section of the building. The French, on the other hand, carried out the defense works of the fort upstream.
