Madonna 2019

Created on the north side of the building, near the entrances to the Emergency Department and the outpatient clinics of the Santa Maria delle Grazie Hospital, the two large murals, over 7 metres long, depict, respectively, the face of a Madonna taken from a real model (the Neapolitan journalist Anna Trieste) and that of a stained-glass window in a Spanish cathedral. On one of the working days, some autistic children joined Jorit in making the work. The theme of inclusiveness, therefore, already addressed on many occasions by the artist (the portrait of the autistic child Niccolò in San Giovanni a Teduccio) is for Jorit a practice and not an abstract value to be adhered to.
